About Us

Bangladesh Pharmacological Society (BDPS) is a forum for the pharmacologists to meet and discuss areas of common interests and concerns in order to uphold the honor and interests of the discipline and of the profession.

BDPS promotes better understanding of pharmacological knowledge and its application for effective and safer drug therapy through inquiries and research.

We advocate to strengthen the efforts that will promote research, exchange of scientific information, considerations of regulatory mechanisms that affect drug development and utilization, and medical education. We try to promote the concept and practice of rational use of medicines; to help the government, drug regulatory bodies, hospital therapeutic committees to develop appropriate ‘Treatment Guidelines’ ‘Formularies’, ‘Drug Information Bulletins’ etc. to strengthen the rational use of medicines.

BDPS also try to develop and promote public awareness programs for dealing with misuse and abuse of drugs.

BDPS actively collaborates with national and international organizations to foster partnerships that advance the field of pharmacology. These collaborations not only help in broadening the research horizons but also aid in bringing global expertise to local challenges. Through international conferences, workshops, and symposia, BDPS provides a platform for its members to interact with world-renowned experts, thereby enhancing their knowledge and skills in drug therapy and pharmacological research.

Furthermore, the society is committed to the education and continuous professional development of its members. BDPS organizes regular training sessions and continuing medical education (CME) programs, which are designed to keep healthcare professionals updated on the latest developments in pharmacology. These programs focus on new drug discoveries, updates in pharmacotherapeutics, and advances in drug safety to ensure high standards of patient care across the country.

In its quest to improve healthcare outcomes, BDPS also plays a pivotal role in advocating for ethical practices in pharmacology. The society emphasizes the importance of ethical considerations in clinical trials and research, striving to ensure that all pharmacological practices uphold the highest ethical standards. This commitment not only helps in maintaining public trust in pharmacological science but also fosters a research environment that respects the dignity and rights of participants.
